  • 12 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 16-ounce tub chocolate frosting*
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract optional
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt optional

  1. Spray an 8-inch square baking dish with cooking spray and set aside.
  2. Place the chocolate chips in a large microwave-safe bowl and heat in 30-second intervals, stirring well after each interval, until smooth.
  3. Remove the lid and foil top from the tub of frosting and heat until pourable, about 20 to 30 seconds.
  4. Pour the frosting over the melted chips, then add the vanilla and the salt (if using). Quickly stir to combine, then pour into the prepared baking dish.
  5. Refrigerate for 2 hours, or until set. Slice and serve.

Recipe Notes

  • Uneaten chocolate frosting fudge can be stored in an airtight container, layered with wax paper, in the fridge for up to 1 week.
  • It can also be stored in the freezer (again in an airtight container) for about two months.
  • *I used Betty Crocker Rich and Creamy milk chocolate frosting.
  • If you prefer, you can use milk chocolate or dark chocolate chips.
  • See the body of this post for ideas to vary your fudge.
