If you’re looking for an easy dessert with Nutella, look no further than this Nutella fudge. It only requires three ingredients and a few minutes of active time—and it’s super creamy and so delicious!

Today’s recipe checks all the boxes: easy, chocolatey, and super delicious. And don’t we all deserve some chocolate-y deliciousness today? (Of course we do.)

Three-ingredient Nutella fudge will be your new favorite treat for snacking, gifting, and/or eating for dinner when you forgot to pick up real food at the grocery store.

That’s the story of my life, BTW . Need a cake? I have everything to make it. Want literally anything that isn’t sweet? Sorry. You’re outta luck.

Why you’ll love this Nutella fudge:

  • It only requires three ingredients
  • No candy thermometer or other special equipment needed
  • It only takes about 5 minutes to make!

Ingredients and equipment

  • Nutella
  • Chocolate chips (any variety, I like milk chocolate best here)
  • Sweetened condensed milk
  • Microwave-safe bowl + a microwave
  • Spatula
  • 8-inch square baking pan

THAT’S IT! Fudge doesn’t get easier than this, I’m telling you!

Note:

You can make this on the stovetop if you don’t have a microwave. Set the pan over low heat and stir constantly until melted and smooth. Remove from the heat, transfer to a mixing bowl, and stir in the sweetened condensed milk.

How to make your fudge

how to make microwave fudge

  • Combine chocolate chips and Nutella in a bowl
  • Heat in the microwave, stirring every 30 seconds, until smooth
  • Stir in sweetened condensed milk
  • Scrape into an 8-inch square dish and chill

Notes:

  • I used milk chocolate chips but you can use semi-sweet or dark or whatever you have. Even white chocolate is fine; white chocolate chips are harder to melt though
  • Be absolutely sure you’re using sweetened condensed milk rather than evaporated milk. Your fudge won’t set if you use evaporated
  • You can use a 9-inch square baking dish if you don’t have an 8-inch one. Your fudge will just be thinner than mine

Baker’s tip:

Spray your measuring cups lightly with cooking spray before you measure the Nutella, that way it slides out of the cup more easily; you can also spray the spatula or spoon you use to scoop the Nutella if you want.

How to store your fudge

Uneaten Nutella fudge will last for up to a week in an airtight container in the fridge.

It will last (again, in an airtight container) in the freezer for up to about 2 months. You can defrost your fudge in the fridge overnight before serving or just eat it right out of the freezer.

Variations

  • If you like salty sweets, sprinkle your fudge with some flaky sea salt immediately after you scrape it into the pan
  • Mix some chopped hazelnuts (or even peanuts) into your fudge after you add the sweetened condensed milk
  • Mix in some chopped M&Ms (any variety) for a chocolate-y crunch

Nutella fudge is incredibly easy to make, requiring just three ingredients and a few minutes of active time. It's creamy, delicious, and a hit with everyone who tries it!

Course: Dessert
Cuisine: American
Servings: 49
Author: Kelsie
Ingredients
  • 12 ounces chocolate chips*
  • 1 1/2 cups Nutella
  • 1 14-ounce can sweetened condensed milk
  • small pinch of salt optional
Instructions
  1. Spray an 8-inch square baking pan with cooking spray, then line the bottom with wax paper or parchment paper.
  2. Combine the chocolate chips and Nutella in a medium microwave-safe bowl. Heat in 30-second intervals, stirring well after each interval, until the chocolate is melted and the mixture is smooth.
  3. Add the sweetened condensed milk and salt (if using) and stir until fully combined. Scrape into the prepared baking dish.
  4. Refrigerate until set, about 2 hours. Slice and serve.
  5. Uneaten fudge can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 week or in the freezer for about two months. If you freeze your fudge, you don’t need need to thaw it before serving. It’s actually delicious frozen.

Recipe Notes
  • *You can use any variety; I like milk chocolate best here. White chocolate chips will require more stirring than regular chocolate because they’re more difficult to melt
  • Be absolutely sure you’re using sweetened condensed milk rather than evaporated milk. Your fudge won’t set if you use evaporated
  • You can use a 9-inch square baking dish if you don’t have an 8-inch one. Your fudge will just be thinner than mine
  • Spray your measuring cups lightly with cooking spray before you measure the Nutella, that way it slides out of the cup more easily; you can also spray the spatula or spoon you use to scoop the Nutella.
  • You can make this on the stovetop if you don’t have a microwave. Set the pan over low heat and stir constantly until melted and smooth. Remove from the heat, transfer to a mixing bowl, and stir in the sweetened condensed milk.
  • I like to add a pinch of salt to my fudge when I mix in the sweetened condensed milk but that's not totally necessary; it just helps the flavors pop more.

Hi Kelsie, is there any substitute for the sweetened condensed milk? Heavy cream?

Hi, Ro! Unfortunately I don’t know of any substitutes for condensed milk. Sorry I can’t be of more help!

Made this fudge to give away for recent birthdays in my life. Wow! It tasted just as good as advertised and made a ton. It whipped up fast as well.

Was a little concerned when I started adding the condensed milk to my chocolate and the mixture started looking grainy. So I reheated it slightly in the microwave before adding more. It did it again a near the end of the can, but I decided to shrug it off and shoved it in the freezer anyway. I was really surprised when I took it out for cutting and it was all smooth and creamy-not grainy or lumpy at all. Guess I panicked too early and over nothing Lesson learned! 😅

Great recipe! Thanks for sharing. I’ll be making often!

I’m a little excited that I have everything I need to make this one! I usually don’t go for fudge, but this one looks so creamy, and you really can’t beat how easy it is to make! I like your suggestion of adding some sea salt or hazelnuts too!

Now you’re talking, Kelsie! I could have a batch of this fudge done and ready to eat in no time flat…that’s how I like to roll. In fact, this would be a fun dessert for Valentine’s Day! Perhaps I should make a “test batch” first…you know, just to make sure I know how to make it and all. 🙂

3 ingredients to this delicious fudge? Um, yes please! Love the idea of adding a little salt for that whole salty/sweet situation. My Monday would instantly be better if I had a square (or three) of this! Have a great week, Kelsie!
